There were so many woolly aphids swirling about as the morning warmed up at the arboretum that I felt like I was inside a snow globe. It was magical. I was able to capture a small snapshot of them through a window in the canopy as the sun reflected off of there fleecy bodies. It is a magical event out at the arboretum in the fall and one that I recommend that you check out. Bushtits, golden-crowned kinglets, ruby-crowned kinglets and chickadees are zipping around everywhere gleaning them off the foliage and limbs of trees. At this point, I am not sure what happens to all of these aphids for the winter. I am still doing some research. In the meantime, I wanted to share the beauty of the moment.
I hope that you are enjoying the fall season wherever you are. I have been a little busy and away from blogging for a bit, but with this post I hope to get back into the groove. Thanks for checking out my blog. I hope to see you out there!
If you have trouble falling asleep at night, consider counting woolly aphids. They are like pillowy, little clouds gently whirling around. They seem as numerous as the stars at the moment and you can count on them to transport you peaceful night’s sleep.
